Why Bereans17 Exists
The Need
It has been over a century since the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was first preached and received in Chin State, Myanmar. Since then, the majority of the Chin people have embraced Christianity, becoming a religious minority within the country. Due to prolonged military rule, many have left their homeland and established new lives across the globe. Amid this widespread dispersion, the need for a trusted and faithful source of theological resources becomes increasingly evident. Bereans17 exists to meet that need.
The Vision
Bereans17 exists to glorify God through the following ministries:

Teach the Word

We believe that the teaching of sound doctrines is essential for the maturity of both individual saints and the Church. Only through sound teaching, “we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes” (Ephesians 4:14).

Equip the Saints

We are committed to the biblical mandate to equip the saints, affirming that Scripture is sufficient to equip the saints for every good work: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

Evangelize the Lost

We seek to imitate our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles by reaching the lost through evangelism, so that Christ’s lost sheep may be brought to the Good Shepherd who gave His life for them.

Defend the Faith

We recognize that the Church has faced persistent attack. Therefore, we are commended to be ready “to make a defense to anyone who asks [us] for a reason for the hope that is in [us], yet with gentleness and respect.” (1 Peter 3:15).
